Jörg Bitzigeio is one of the most credentialed directors and coaches in Europe and the Americas, providing sports management and high-level coaching in table tennis.
Bitzigeio became the youngest National Team Head Coach and Olympic Team Coach at the age of 28. He established and led Europe’s strongest international training group in female table tennis that resulted in a Bronze medal at the 2010 World Team Championships, the first for Germany’s Women’s team since 1997. Committed to developing young players, Bitzigeio later took on the position of the Youth Head Coach. During his tenure, he led several players to win several titles at European Championships and Europe Top 12 in Adult, Junior and Cadet categories.
In 2017, Bitzigeio was recruited to be the High Performance Director by USA Table Tennis to structure elite training and development. He succeeded in getting a player to No.1 ranking in U18 World Ranking and 3 players to Top 30 Adult World Ranking. Under his leadership, US men’s team won a Gold medal in the 2019 Pan Am Games, and a Bronze medal at the 2018 Youth Olympics Games. These successes were unprecedented in US table tennis history. Bitzigeio was awarded USATT National Coach of the year in 2017 and 2018.
Bitzigeio holds a Master Degrees in Sports Science and Sports Business. He also completed Germany’s high performance coaching education to become a level A coaching license holder.
Bitzigeio continues to coach and manage US top male player Kanak Jha who trains at 888 Table Tennis Center whenever he is in the United States. Bitzigeio is excited to lead 888 Table Tennis Center to become an internationally renowned training center for elite athletes.
